General conditions and guidelines 

1. Entry for the Z-festival can be realised by completing the entry form and by payment of the entry fee. 

2. The Z-Festival is open for horses and foals that have been registered after birth with Studbook Zangersheide V.Z.W. and which are owned by a member of Studbook Zangersheide V.Z.W.. 

3. The organisation reserves the right to stop entries when the number of entries gets too high. Entries will be accepted in order of reception. 

4. All participants must have been vaccinated against influenza and tetanus. Vaccination certificates should be submitted on request there and then. 

5. The handler must wear a correct Z-outfit (blue Z-shirt and blue jeans). 

6. Costs of travelling and accommodation are for account of the owner. After booking with the Studbook, horses can be stabled during these days, this depends on the location . Since only a limited number of stables are available, we recommend booking in time. Owners travelling from afar will have a priority right to a stable. 

7. Attendance at and participation at the Z-Festival are entirely for the risk of the owner. Neither staff of the organisation nor medics, vets, etc., can be held liable for damage and/or accidents during the event. 

8. Any matters not provided for in these conditions will receive a binding decision from the organisation. The organisation also reserves the right to change the programme, cancel, interrupt and/or stop the presentation, as it deems fit. The organisation shall not be liable for possible resulting negative results/costs for the participants.

Foal Championships
 

1. Entry fee of € 70.- excl. VAT per foal. 

2. Entries for the Foal Championships become definite after confirmation by the Studbook. The letter of confirmation will also state the starting time of the class. 

3. The Championships are open for foals born in 2024, at least 4 weeks old and registered in Studbook Zangersheide V.Z.W.. 

4. All starting foals must be accompanied by their dam. Both dam and foal (from 3 months of age) must have been vaccinated against influenza and tetanus. Vaccination certificates should be submitted on request there and then. 

5. The foals will be assessed by the selection committee of Studbook Zangersheide for their future use as (showjumping) sport horse. The assessment is based on five criteria, namely: type, correctness, movements, general im- pression and damline. Each of these components can be rewarded with a maximum of 10 points. 

6. The foals are presented individually with their dam in hand at standstill to the jury, after which they may show walk, trot and canter in free action. Per catalogue number one handler is allowed in the ring. The jury will assess the foals for as long as they deem fit. 

7A.The Championships in Belgium take place in six phases: 

• FRIDAY MORNING (19 July): 

Qualifier for fillies Born; 19 - 05- 2024 up to 19 - 06 – 2024 

Followed by the finals. 

• FRIDAY AFTERNOON (19 July): 

Qualifier for colts Born; 19 - 05 - 2024 up to 19 - 06 - 2024

Followed by the finals. 

• SATURDAY MORNING (20 July): 

Qualifier for fillies Born; 18-04 -2024 up to 18-05-2024 

Followed by the finals. 

• SATURDAY AFTERNOON (20 July): 

Qualifier for colts Born; 18-04 -2024 up to 18-05-2024  

Followed by the finals. 

• SUNDAY MORNING (21 Juy): 

Qualifier for fillies Born; 01-01-2024 up to 17 - 04 - 2024

Followed by the finals. 

• FOLLOWING (21 July): 

Qualifier for colts Born; 01- 01-2024 up to 17 - 04 - 2024 

Followed by the finals. 

• Provisional division 

7B. The championships in Germany, France and the Netherlands each take place in two phases, a qualifying round for fillies followed by finals and a qualifying round for colts followed by finals. 

8. The findings of the jury are binding. The owner of the foal shall accept these findings as definite and no objection is possible. 

9. The prize money amounts to € 12 ,000.-. The prize money includes a breeder’s premium of 20 %, which means that in case the owner and the breeder of the relevant horse are not the same, this breeder’s premium will be deducted from the prizemoney and made available to the breeder. 

10.During the Championships also the selection for the auctions of Studbook Zangersheide V.Z.W. will be made. The entry form should state whether the entry also includes selection for the (online) auctions. 

11.Selection for the auction is independent of the Foal Championships and is based on different criteria. A good place in the Foal Championships does not automatically mean selection for the auction. 

12.Owners of selected foals must co-operate in the photographic session for the auction catalogue. Failure to visit the photographer present during the Z-festivals will mean that the costs of having the photographer return at a later moment are for the owner. 

Championship 3-yr-old Z-horses (21 July 2024)
 

1. The entry fee is € 70 excl. VAT.- per horse. 

2. This Championship is open for stallions, mares and geldings born in 2021 and registered in Studbook Zangersheide. 

3. The 3-yr-old Z-horses will be assessed by the selection committee of Studbook Zangersheide on jumping talent, scope/power, technique and general impression. Maximum points awarded for each of these components is 10. 

4. The 3-yr-old horses will be presented individually in hand, at standstill and walk, after which trot, canter and jump are shown in free action. The free jumping consists of jumping a line in free action (specifically an in over an uprightwith trot pole in front and after that at one stride’s distance an upright, which will later be converted into a sloping oxer. 

5. The findings of the jury are binding. The owner of the 3-yr- old Z-horse will accept these as definite findings that can not be objected to. 

6. The prize money amounts to € 1,000.- paid out to the ten horses with the highest number of pointsin the finals. The prize money includes a breeder’s premium of 10 %, which means that in case the owner and the breeder of the relevant horse are not the same, this breeder’s premium will be deducted from the prizemoney andmade available to the breeder
