Vigalio Sho Z jumps to silver in the CSI3* GP of Arezzo
SPORTFOT
With international shows in both Arezzo and Gorla Minore, last weekend was a very busy weekend on Italian soil. At both shows, many Zangersheide horses appeared at the start and in Arezzo we also saw one of these horses shining during the CSI3* GP. The Dutch rider Gert Jan Bruggink jumped to a podium place here with the 9-year-old stallion Vigalio Sho Z, a son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Come On who was bred in the Netherlands by Stal Het Oosterbrook. In a jump-off for which 9 combinations were able to qualify, Bruggink and Vigalio Sho Z managed to stay clear again and this performance earned them a 2nd place in the ranking.
Next to Bruggink and Vigalio Sho Z, the Italian lady rider Aurora Bortolazzi was also placed with the 14-year-old mare Clintissima Van Spalbeek Z (Clintissimo Z x Picasso Z – B: Frans Liefsoens). They also qualified for the jump-off with a 9th place as a result. Moreover, it was already the 2nd top 10 ranking of the weekend for the duo, because on Thursday they also jumped to a 4th place during the 1.45m class.
Earlier on Sunday there was also a 1.45m class for the CSI3* competition and here too we saw 2 Zangersheide horses in the top 10 of the ranking. The 5th place went to the French lady rider Elisa Chimirri with the 11-year-old grey stallion Calandro Z (Calato x Sandro Boy – B: Tim Holford) and the 8th place went to the Italian lady rider Andrea Benatti with the 14-year-old chestnut stallion Casanova Z (Clinton x Carolus I – B: Johnny Pals).
Furthermore it was also a very successful weekend for the Belgian rider Alexander Kumps with the 11-year-old stallion Chac-Lisco Z (Chacco Blue x Jalisco B – B: Guy De Winne). Kumps and Chac-Lisco Z won the 1.30m class on Thursday and repeated that performance on Friday during the 1.35m class. In the same 1.35m class on Friday, his compatriot Ignace Philips de Vuyst was also placed. He became 6th with the 9-year-old stallion Quicktime Z (Quality Time TN x Calvaro Z – B: H.A.P.J. Marcellis).
Finally, next to Aurora Bortolazzi and Clintissima Van Spalbeek Z, two other Zangersheide horses managed to jump into the picture during the 1.45m class on Thursday. The 3rd place went to the Portuguese rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida with the 11-year-old stallion Quirados Z (Quidam de Rêve x Coronado – B: PGMBH Hammes) and the 7th place went to the Swiss rider Bryan Balsiger with the 9-year-old mare Cyra Z (Casimo x Balougran – B: J. van Kooten & B. Vink).
