In Monaco we were able to enjoy the 9th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour last weekend, but on French soil also the three-star show of Royan took place. During the CSI3* GP on Sunday there was a leading role for the Belgian lady rider Elisa Strubbe with her 9-year-old gelding Deejay KDW Z, a son of Diamant de Semilly and Vigo d'Arsouilles who was bred by Emile De Waele. Strubbe and Deejay KDW Z, who also delivered a strong performance on Friday with 1 time penalty during the 1.45m high Longines Ranking class, were one of the 8 combinations that remained clear in the basic round and so qualified for the jump-off. They again managed to keep all the poles in the cups again and this performance earned them a nice 2nd place in the ranking.
Who also secured a 2nd place in Royan was the French rider Luca Fournier with the also 9-year-old mare Cyranan Z, a daughter of Cyrano du Ruisseau Z and Heartbreaker who was bred in France by Goblessi Joy Najem Francesca. Fournier and Cyranan Z jumped to a podium place during the 1.45m high Longines Ranking class on Thursday and this after a clear round.
Furthermore, Fournier's compatriot Stanislas De Malet was also placed in this class with the 9-year-old stallion Zambo M Z (Zandor Z x Lupicor – B: Stal Meulendijks). They also delivered a flawless performance and this was good for a 9th place in the standings.
Finally, during the 1.45m Longines Ranking class on Friday, the French rider Edouard Chauvet jumped to a top 10 ranking with the 11-year-old chestnut mare Zia Mia De La Bonn Z (Zandor Z x Voltaire – B: Elise Bonnaud). They managed to keep it clear in both the basic round and the jump-off and this resulted in a 7th place in the ranking.
