After the Stuttgart German Masters, the World Cup caravan moved on to Spain last weekend for a new edition of the Madrid Horse Week. This weekend there was also Zangersheide success during the World Cup with a podium place for the Spanish rider Mariano Martinez Bastida and the 14-year-old gelding Belano vd Wijnhoeve Z, a son of Berlin and Darco who was bred in Belgium by D. De Cuyper and with whom Martinez Bastida won the CSI4* GP of Deauville last summer.

Martinez Bastida and Belano vd Wijnhoeve Z already started their show on Friday with a 7th place during the 1.50m high speed class and yesterday during the World Cup they were one of the 10 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. As the 3rd combination at the start, they once again provided a flawless performance and with a finishing time of 43.06 seconds they ultimately secured a 3rd place in the rankings.

Epaillard and Cancun Torel Z became the winners of the 1.45m high opening class on Friday, where they were more than 2 full seconds ahead of the competition with a clear round in 47.92 seconds.

Finally, it was also another successful show for the Liechtenstein lady rider Jennifer Hochstadter and the 12-year-old stallion Tinka's Hero Z, a son of Tinka's Boy and Caretino who was bred by Vincent Jourdan and Luc Henry.
