full Zangersheide podium in the CSI2* GP of Kronenberg!
SPORTFOT
We like to see a Zangersheide horse who win a GP, but an integral Zangersheide podium during a GP makes it even more special! We got to see it last weekend during the CSI2* GP of Kronenberg. Of the 53 combinations that appeared at the start, 12 managed to stay clear in the basic round and so qualified for the jump-off. The victory went to the Dutch rider Remco Been with the 11-year-old gelding Bridgetown Z, a son of Big Star Jr K Z and Carolus H who was bred in the Netherlands by M.J. Greeve. Been and Bridgetown Z, who already finished 6th in the GP Qualifier on Thursday, appeared as the last combination in the ring and with a clear round in 35.32 seconds they were almost a full second ahead of the competition.
But the other podium places also colored blue and yellow with Been's compatriot Leopold van Asten and the 10-year-old gelding VDL Groep Iron Z (Charisma Z x Mr. Blue - B: Stoeterij Duyselshof) in 2nd place. They also managed to ensure a clear round in the jump-off, but finished in 36.18 seconds. The 3rd place went to French lady rider Clarance Gendron with the 17-year-old mare Azura Z (Air Jordan Z x Skippy II – B: Rudy Andries). They crossed the finish line in 36.23 seconds and so completed the Zangersheide podium. And also for Gendron and Azura Z this was already the second time that they were placed, because during the GP Qualifier on Thursday they managed to jump to a 5th place.
Another combination that managed to jump into the picture last weekend was the French rider Guillaume Foutrier with the 8-year-old gelding Top of the Bill 89 Z (Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve x Andiamo Z – B: Nick Verlies). Foutrier and Top of the Bill 89 Z started their show on Thursday with an 8th place in the 1.35m class, then became 5th on Friday in another 1.35m class and ended on Sunday with a 2nd place in a 1.40m class.
Furthermore, the Dutch rider Loewie Joppen was also placed twice with the 9-year-old stallion Add Picobello Z, a son of Action-Breaker and Orlando who was bred by the Ruant family and who is also approved for Studbook Zangersheide. Joppen and Add Picobello Z jumped to a 3rd place on Thursday during a 1.40m class and a day later a 5th place followed during the 1.45m GP Qualifier.
Finally, during the classes for the 7-year-old horses, the Brazilian rider Matheus Ferreira Gomes Corrêa delivered some strong performances. In the saddle of the mare Chic Olympique de Kreisker Z Imperio Egipicio (Cornet Obolensky x Tinka's Boy – B: Elevage De Kreisker) he immediately started with a victory on Thursday and during the final on Sunday they secured a 2nd place in the ranking.
