What a successful weekend it turned out to be for our Zangersheide stallions! In Leipzig there was already that fantastic victory for Solid Gold Z during the Word Cup Qualifier on Friday and a second place for Dourkhan Hero Z during the final for the 8-year-old horses on Sunday, but also in de United States one of our stallions jumped into the spotlights and this through one of his offspring. During the second week of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, the CSI3* GP on Sunday was won by the American rider Kent Farrington with the 10-year-old chestnut gelding Landon, a son of our chestnut stallion Comilfo Plus Z and Quadrillo, who was born as Crack de Nyze Z at the home of breeder Danny Nijs. Farrington and Landon remained clear in the basic round and were one of the five combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. As the second combination at the start, they again managed to keep all the poles in the cups and with a finish time of 39.30 seconds they secured the victory!

Kent Farrington: “Landon is a very careful and a competitive horse. He has so much power and such a big stride, he has to learn to contain his power and we are starting to see that now. His rounds are getting much smoother and the jump off today I thought was great.”

Also on Sunday, the CSIU25 GP was on the program in Wellington and here too we saw a Zangerheide horse in the top three of the ranking. The third place here went to the American lady rider Mimi Gochman with the 10-year-old grey stallion Cosmos BH, a son of Chellano Alpha Z and Artos Z who was born at our stud farm as Cosmos Z. In a jump-off for which twenty-three combinations were able to qualify, Gochman and Cosmos BH Z again remained clear and this more than a full second behind winner Audrey Schulze (Darquito). A day earlier, Gochman and Cosmos BH already finished ninth in the 1.45m high speed class.

During the same speed class on Saturday, there was a podium place for the French lady rider Eden Leprevost Blinlebreton with the 12-year-old mare Go with the Flow, a daughter of Diarado and Coronado who was born as Diarola G&C 2011 Z  at the home of breeder Melanie Gelin. Leprevost Blinlebreton en Go with the Flow rushed to the finish line in 64.55 seconds and this performance was good for second place in the ranking. The American lade rider Zayna Rizvi finished sixth in this class with the 15-year-old mare Exit Of Ice Z (Emilion x Tornado – B: Wim Den Abt) and her compatriot Nicolette Hirt eighth with the 10-year-old gelding Manolo Z (Mylord Carthago x Corofino I – B: Monique Hendrickx).

Also on Saturday we saw two Zangersheide horses in the top ten of the ranking during the 1.40m class of the CSIU25 competition. The Fifth place was for the American lady rider Alexis Sokolov with the 10-year-old mare Calcite EB Z (Cornet Obolensky x Berlin – B: LVP Stables) and the eighth place for her compatriot Stella Wasseman with the 12-year-old gelding Eldorado WP Z (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Calvados – B: Wim Putseys).

Last but not least, the American lady rider Lillie Keenan was placed one time in Wellington with her 12-year-old stallion Agana van het Gerendal Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Topas – B: Familie Verhey/Stal Gerendal). During the 1.50m class on Thursday they were good for a seventh place in the ranking.
