Z-horses score in St Tropez Global Champions League

With the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show in Ramatuelle/St. Tropez last weekend, the Longines Global Champions Tour was already on its ^6th leg of the season. On Friday, the famous team competition of the Global Champions League was there to watch out for and in it some Zangersheide horses once again managed to put their best foot forward.

The most striking name here was that of the 11-year-old black gelding Dexter Fontenis Z, the son of Diarado and Voltaire bred by S.C.R.I.S.Ky Horses and one of French rider Simon Delestre's top horses. Having already won ^4th place in the 1.45m class on Thursday, Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z appeared at the start of the first round of the Global Champions League on Friday and in it they managed to impress again. Indeed, as one of the last combinations to start, they raced to the finish in 66.25 seconds, adding the individual ranking in this first round to their record!

Who also came out strong during this first round were Belgian rider Nicola Philippaerts and his 12-year-old chestnut mare H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z, the daughter of Zangersheide icon Levisto Z and For Pleasure who was bred by the Van Den Branden family of Stal 't Ruytershof and with whom Philippaerts won the LGCT Grand Prix of Mexico City as recently as April. Philippaerts and H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z also managed a flawless performance and with a finishing time of 69.08 seconds they took ^5th place.

But also in the second and decisive round there was blue/yellow success thanks to American rider Kent Farrington and the 10-year-old mare Toulayna, a daughter of Toulon and Darco who was born as Toulayna van het Bloesemhof Z to breeder Jasper Doucé. Farrington and Toulayna managed to keep all the rails in the clear during this 1.60m class and this performance earned them a great^2nd place in the standings.

Furthermore, Belgian rider Thibeau Spits also once again confirmed the good form of his 9-year-old black stallion Impress-K van 't Kattenheye Z, the son of Indoktro-K Van 't Kattenheye and Vagabond de la Pomme from the breeding farm of Tony Raman and Mieke Strobbe. After Spits and Impress-K van 't Kattenheye Z started their competition in St. Tropez with ^10th place in the 1.40m class on Thursday, they managed to keep all the bars in the scoops in both the first and second rounds during the Global Champions League on Friday.

Finally, in St. Tropez there was also success for the blood of our grey stallion Cicero Z thanks to Belgian rider Pieter Devos and 10-year-old chestnut mare Jarina J (Cicero Z x Harley VDL - B: H.C.B.M. Janssen). During the 1.45m high speed class on Saturday afternoon, Devos and Jarina J managed to secure ^3rd place in the standings after a clear round.
