Six years partnership between Lynch and Cornets Ibero results in Sires of the World victory

There were eight clear rounds out of 50 combinations in the finale of the Sires of the World. In the jump-off the crowds at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken got treated to some very competitive rounds. Cornets Ibero, with Denis Lynch (IRE) in the saddle, set an impossible time to beat halfway in the finale. Giving him a run for his money though where the two other riders that made the podium representing the Belgian flag and studbook Zangersheide and the BWP.

The second place went to the Zangersheide bred stallion Feromas van Beek Z (Fantomas de Muze – Cerona van Beek x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) with Gilles Thomas. “Last year I placed fourth in this class and two years ago I was third and now I am second. That shows how competitive and how many clear rounds Feromas jumps. He is getting better and better every year! I tried hard to beat Denis today, but I wasn’t fast enough. This class is a really good opportunity to show the stallions to the breeders. It is not so easy for the breeders to see the stallions live. They can see the stallions in the warmup and take a picture with them.”

Feromas van Beek Z showed an incredible performance but was a bit too slow to beat Denis Lynch with his Hanoverian bred stallion Cornets Ibero (Cornet Obolensky – Ina Bella x Iberio I, breeder: Heinrich Ramsbrock). Denis says: “I had him since he was five-year-old and he has won many classes since. He is very competitive. He has done some breeding when he was younger, but he hasn’t been used so much in the recent years. So maybe this will promote him. He is a real fighter.”

The third place was taken by the 18-year-old BWP bred stallion Faldiano (Heartbreaker – W-de-Pomme x Jus de Pomme, breeder: Benny Helsen) under the saddle of Jens Vandenberk, he says: I really focus in my preparation on the Sires of the World. I jumped two smaller shows to give him confidence. Despite his age, he is still very fit and eager. As long as he wants to keep going and feels fit, I will keep competing with him.”

Two studbooks were represented twice in the clear rounds; OS & Zangersheide. For OS two stallions bred by Gestüt Lewitz/Paul Schockemöhle. Baloutaire PS (Balou du Rouet – Chataire x Chacco-Blue) finished respectively sixth with Philip Rüping and Chad Blue PS (Chacco-Blue – Sancenta x Sandro Boy) finished at the eighth position with Patrick Stühlmeyer. This was not the only stallion owned by Paul Schockemöhle and under the saddle of Philip Rüping that made it to the top 10.

The stallion Casallco (Casall – Zelda IV x Contender, Stamm 8798, breeder: Frans Vrenken) made an outstanding come back at his third international show this year after a very serious accident at a show last year. It was also the first time again at 1.50m for this combination and they finished at the fourth position. Studbook Zangersheide was represented at the seventh place by Thuur Z (Tyson – Flying Lotus Z x Flipper d’Elle, breeder J. Thijssen) under the saddle of Victoria Gulliksen. One fence down prevented them from becoming second.
