Ine Theuwissen is at home in all (equestrian) markets: she has been active in the sport herself, is currently a breeder and works in equestrian and rural real estate. "Until 10 years ago I was an active rider myself, in 2008 I even participated in the European Championship eventing. Afterwards I switched to show jumping where I mainly rode young horses. After my studies, when I started working, there was less time for sport and I devoted myself to breeding. I try to do this the best I can and think long and hard about my stallion choices. I take into account the technique and qualities of my mares and try to choose a stallion that can add what can be even better. Throughout the year I make lists per mare of possible candidate stallions to then make a choice during the breeding season. In daily life I am a real estate assistant at Hippique Immo, a real estate agency specializing in equestrian and rural real estate. This allows me to maintain an affinity with the equestrian world during my professional life."
Several years ago, Ine took the drastic decision to sell all the horses that were not good enough in her eyes and use that money to buy some good broodmares. "I came across Harrie Theeuwes by chance. I knew him by name, of course, but not personally. I spoke to him and told him I was looking for a good broodmare. A week later I visited him and bought 2 mares. One of them is Beaumonde 111 Z. Beaumonde is a very sweet mare with a lot of blood and a good and fast front leg. Moreover, she has a fantastic conformation, which makes for a lot of options when choosing a stallion. I didn't have to hesitate for long when Harrie offered me this mare. She comes from one of the best Belgian sport lines. Beaumonde is a daughter of Bamako De Muze out of Leonie 111 Z, who herself jumped at 1.50m level with Abdel Saïd. In turn, Leonie is a daughter of the world-famous M. Unellie 15 (Cassini I). The dam of Winningmood, Chippendale Z, Richi Rich 111, Idool 111 and Knock Out 111, among others. All 1.60m horses. Furthermore, Leonie 111 Z also gave the approved breeding stallion Lightning Mcqueen 111 Z, the full brother of Beaumonde and Piepke 111 Z, who jumps at 1.45m level with Dieter Vermeiren."
Ine combined Beaumonde 111 Z with Calvaro Z. "I have loved Calvaro all my life. The stallion has proved himself incredible both in his direct offspring, but also as a sire of the dam. Because Beaumonde has a lot of blood and a good foreleg, I thought it would be the ideal match to add Calvaro's mass, power and ability."
On May 19, 2023, the foal Cutie Pie Van Het Distelhof Z (Calvaro x Bamako x Lord Z x Cassini I) will be born. "Cutie Pie is a dream come true! A blood made filly, very elegant and athletically built with a beautiful and cute head. She trots smoothly and has a big, light-footed canter with lots of balance. I am completely in love with this filly myself. I had initially resolved myself not to sell if it was a filly. But I also have to remain realistic, it all costs a lot of money. That is why I have resolved that, for the right money, I will still sell if necessary.
