The first edition of the Zangersheide Quality Jumpers - powered by MBA exceeded all expectations yesterday evening. The debut of the auction, a collaboration between Judy Ann Melchior, Jens Baackmann and Christian Ahlmann, kicked off a new chapter within the Zangersheide Quality Auctions and left a fantastic impression with stunning results.

Auctioneer Frederik De Backer presented and auctioned off 26 exclusive show jumpers. The collection ranged from promising 3-year-old free jumpers to excellently produced and top-talented ridden jumpers up till nine years old. Buyers from all corners of the world attended the auction or signed in to the online bidding platform. The lots in the auction secured prices that reached unprecedented heights and once again emphasized the international demand for top quality show jumpers.

Ridden horses

The climax of the evening was without a doubt 7-year-old grey stallion Codex Diaz Z, a son of Codex One Z and the legendary Cornet Obolensky. After an intense bidding war, this stallion was sold for a whopping 1 million euros, making him the absolute best seller of the auction.

Another eye-catcher and high earner was the also 7-year-old chestnut stallion Ay Caramba Z, an offspring of Aganix du Seigneur Z and Crowntano Z. He was also a favorite with the bidders and changed hands for an impressive 900.000 euros. The third most expensive horse was the 6-year-old gelding Barack Z, a son of Balounito and Arpeggio. He also attracted a lot of attention and eventually sold for an amount of 365.000 euros.

Free-jumpers

Among 3-year-old horses, some remarkable sums were offered as well. The mare Annan Z, a daughter of Aganix du Seigneur Z and Canturo, was the most expensive of this category. She got on a lot of interest thanks to her exceptional way of jumping and her interesting bloodline, selling eventually for a fantastic sum of 240,000 euros.

The second most expensive among these emerging talents was the chestnut stallion Chacnan van het Weidehof Z, a descendant of Chacco Blue and Kannan. He was auctioned-off for 110,000 euros and will continue his future career with German owners.

The third most expensive young jumper was Denzel The One Z, a son of Diablue PS and Ogano Sitte. This promising stallion exchanged hands for 98.000 euros.

The tone for the Quality Auctions this weekend at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses is set! The auctions on Friday and Saturday evening promise to be spectacular as well.
