Last weekend not only did Wellington colour blue and yellow, but there was also a Zangersheide Grand Prix victory in sunny Mexico. At the Club Hípico Coapexpan, the competition took place on a vast grass track, with the CSI2* Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon featuring a Z-horse at the top of the leaderboard.
A total of 32 combinations ventured out under a beaming sun during this 1.45m CSI2* Grand Prix, and of those, four managed to secure a spot for the decisive jump-off. One of those four was Chilean rider Samuel Parot with his 15-year-old homebred gelding Buga Z, a son of Chester Z combined with the blood of Quality Touch Z. Parot and Buga Z, who had also scored a2nd place in the 1.45m main class the day before, again held a neatly clear round in the jump-off and with a chrono time of 44.44 seconds they convincingly wrote this Grand Prix on their record of achievements!

Another notable combination in Coapexpan was Uruguayan rider Juan Manuel Luzardo with the 9-year-old mare Candian Girl Z, a daughter of Carrera VDL and Quasimodo vd Molendreef bred in the Netherlands by J.A. Weggemans. In both the 1.35m class on Friday and the 1.40m class on Saturday, they produced a flawless performance and this earned them2nd place in the standings twice.
Finally, Mexican rider Georgina Kaye Puertos also managed to jump into the prizes with the 10-year-old mare Chavelle V&V Z, a breeding product of H. Voort from the Netherlands who combined the blood of Carrera VDL with that of Heartbreaker. In the 1.40m class on Thursday, Kaye Puertos and Chavelle V&V Z kept it clear twice, finishing in 4th place.
