After last week's The Dutch Masters - Indoor Brabant, last weekend we once again enjoyed one of the most exclusive five-star competitions of the year: Saut Hermès in Paris. For three days, Le Grand Palais Éphémère was again the setting for top-class sport at the very highest level, where the world's best combinations competed against each other. In the French capital, several Z-horses also made their appearance in the ring, with some great performances.
The most eye-catching name here was that of the 14-year-old black mare Cancun Torel Z, a daughter of Cosinhus and Grannus from the breeding farm of Frenchman François-Xavier Guyard. Cancun Torel Z has now been a top combination with Luxembourg rider Victor Bettendorf for quite some time and this was once again highlighted last weekend. After the duo already shone on Friday with a great2nd place in the 1.45m class, they crowned themselves the winners of the 1.50m morning class on Sunday morning. In both the1st and2nd phases, Bettendorf and Cancun Torel Z kept all the rails in the clear and with a convincing finishing time of 25.33 seconds, they were more than one and a half seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Also in this class, French rider Titouan Schumacher managed a top 5 ranking with the 11-year-old gelding Azote Brimbelles Z, a son of Amadeus Z and Toulon bred in France by Haras des Brimbelles. Schumacher and Azote Brimbelles Z also kept clear twice and their finishing time of 27.95 seconds was good for 5th place in the standings.
Furthermore, Christian Ahlmann also appeared at the start in the French capital and he counted on our 11-year-old stallion D'Aganix 2000 Z, the son of Dominator 2000 Z and Aganix du Seigneur Z bred by Tony Foriers of Stud 2000, among others. Ahlmann and D'Aganix 2000 Z got off to an excellent start to their competition straight away on Friday, where they managed a top ranking in the 1.50m main class. In a class against the clock they ensured a flawless round, which finally earned them 4th place in the standings. Moreover, a day later they jumped into the prizes again when they secured 8th place in the 1.55m main class.

Earlier on Saturday, Liechtenstein rider Jennifer Hochstadter then made herself heard again with the 15-year-old gelding Winnetou de la Hamente Z, a son of Winningmood van de Arenberg and Socrate de Chivre bred by Emmanuel Wera. During the 1.50m speed class, Hochstadter and Winnetour de la Hamente Z managed to keep zero on the scoreboard and with this performance they secured 4th place in the standings. For Belgian rider Nathan Budd and the 11-year-old stallion Touardo Blue Z (Toulon x Arko III - B: Hugues Delattre) there was 8th place in this class. They too could not be found with a fault in this class against the clock.
Finally, there were two placings for Belgian rider Gudurn Patteet and her 10-year-old mare Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z, a daughter of Comme Il Faut and Chacco Blue bred by Evelyne and Colin Van Vreckom. Patteet and Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z secured 10th place in the 1.55m main class on Saturday and on Sunday they closed their competition with 7th place in the 1.50m morning class.
CSIU25 competition
Besides the classes for the CSI5* competition, international youngsters also got their chance again in Paris and this during a CSIU25 competition. In it, the young Belgian rider Mathieu Guery managed to jump into the limelight with the 10-year-old stallion Time-Breaker S Z, a son of Toulon and Calvados who was bred in the Netherlands by P. Sleutels. The son of Jérôme and Patricia Guery managed to secure an individual2nd place in both the 1.45m class on Saturday and Sunday. Moreover, Sunday's competition was also about a team competition, in which Guery and Time-Breaker S Z were part of the winning team.
