Two bronze at the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy!

Last weekend, the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard in the Netherlands was once again the setting for the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy, now in its second edition. For four days, many combinations and especially studbooks competed against each other to take home the coveted title of 'best studbook'. Studbook Zangersheide of course also came to the start and with two bronze medals it was a particularly fruitful weekend for our blue and yellow studbook colours!

The first bronze Studbook medal was achieved during the final for the 8-year-old horses, which was already on the programme on Saturday. The best three combinations from each studbook appeared in the ring again and Zangersheide's three-member team consisted of Dutchman Harrie Smolders with the gelding Devino Vd Weretherbach Z (De Flor 111 Z x Calvin Z - B: Heinz Lentz), Dane Martin Dinesen Neergaard with the stallion Disney Z (Dimitri Z x Numero Uno - B: Baekgaarden Youngster A/S) and Dutchman Loewie Joppen with the stallion Champion Charles Z (Romeo 88 (ex Champion Of Picobello Z) x Carthago Z - B: Louis Smeets).

Smolders and Devino Vd Weretherbach Z suffered a jumping fault en route, but the other 2 combinations both managed to ensure a flawless round. Our team thus finished with a total of 4 penalty points and in a time of 213.85 seconds.

Bronze on Sunday morning

The final day on Sunday kicked off with the final for the 6-year-old horses, in which our Zangersheide team also managed to secure a podium place. This time our team was represented by Italian Gianno Govoni with the stallion Crosby Ter Doorn Z (Comme Il Faut x Kentucky Ter Doorn - B: Brits' Stables BVBA), British rider Tabitha Kyle with the gelding Sing Z (Copycat Z x Contact van de Heffinck - B: Marcel Schrijvers) and Belgian rider Wim Vinckx with the stallion Vivace Vd Kattevennen Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Cassini I - B: Otto Boje Schoof).

In this, Kyle and Sing Z were the team's strongmen, as they managed to ensure a clear round, just like during the first qualification on Thursday. Vinckx and Vivace Vd Kattevennen Z saw a fault on the way, while Govoni and Crosby Ter Doorn Z left the ring with a total of 5 penalties. So the Zangersheide team finished with a total of 9 penalty points and this in a total time of 226.69 seconds.
