Strong weekend for Simon Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z

After a few weeks' break, there was action again in the Longines Global Champions Tour last weekend. The 'place to be' this time was the British capital London, which was now ready for the ^12th leg of the season. One of the combinations who enjoyed a strong weekend there was French rider Simon Delestre and his top 11-year-old gelding Dexter Fontenis Z, the son of Diarado and Voltaire bred by S.C.R.I S.Ky Horses and with whom Delestre also managed to win a class at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monte Carlo last month.

The opening day on Friday got off to an immediately excellent start for Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z, who immediately secured a spot on the podium in the 1.45m opening class. In a class against the clock, they stopped the clock in 29.95 seconds after a clear round and this performance earned them a nice^2nd place in the standings.

On Saturday, the competition was then all about the team competition of the Global Champions League and in it, too, Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z once again managed to claim a leading role. During the second and decisive round, which was jumped over a height of 1.60m, they galloped to the finish in 69.93 seconds to take the win in the individual standings.

But also Christian Ahlmann travelled to London last weekend, where he called on our 9-year-old stallion Dourkhan Hero Z, the son of Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero and Zandor Z from the breeding farm of Luc Henry, among others. After already being good for ^4th place in the 1.45m opening class on Friday, Ahlmann also brought Dourkhan Hero Z to the start during the LGCT Grand Prix yesterday. Ahlmann and Dourkhan Hero Z jumped a super round on their debut at 1.60m level, but unfortunately saw the second element of the triple jump roll out of the scoops, which meant they just failed to qualify for the jump-off.
