Son of Kassander Van 't Roosakker Z comes 2nd in CSI2* GP of Bourg en Bresse

In France last weekend it was looking forward to the international show in Bourg-En-Bresse, where both a four-star and a two-star competition were on the programme. The CSI2* GP on Sunday afternoon looked particularly successful for our blue/yellow colours, as we got not one but two Zangersheide horses on the podium.

The best performance came from French rider Enzo Chiarotto and the only 8-year-old chestnut stallion Kailash Heureka Z, a son of our chestnut stallion Kassander van 't Roosakker Z and Verdi TN bred by Luc Henry and J.J. Remijnse. Chiarotto and Kailash Heureka Z were one of the eight combinations who managed to clear the basic round, securing a place in the jump-off. In that jump-off, they managed to repeat their flawless performance from the basic round once more and their finishing time of 41.70 seconds was ultimately good for 2^nd place in the standings.

But we also got a second Zangersheide horse on the podium at this CSI2* GP and Chiarotto's compatriot Lou Favede took care of that with the 9-year-old mare Ariba Ter Elzen Z, a daughter of Air Jordan Alpha Z and Heartbreaker from the breeding farm of Werner Heuninckx. Favede and Ariba Ter Elzen Z also had no faults in the jump-off and with a finishing time of 43.17 seconds they eventually took 3^rd place.

In the CSI4* competition, Swiss rider Pius Schwizer managed to secure a victory with the 10-year-old mare Scarlina de Tiji Z, a daughter of Hunter's Scendro and Kannan bred by Tim Van Tricht and Jill Smits of T&J BV. In the 1.50m main class on Sunday, Schwizer and Scarlina de Tiji Z were one of nine combinations who managed to qualify for the jump-off and in it they managed to outclass the competition with a clear round in 36.21 seconds.

But the other podium places during these classes were also coloured blue and yellow thanks to British rider Lily Attwood with her 14-year-old gelding Cor-Leon Vd Vlierbeek Z (Calvaro F.C. x Omar - B: De Vlierbeek) and French rider Nicolas Deseuzes with the 11-year-old stallion Eldorado Sunheup Z (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Quartz du Chanu - B: Carine Groualle Elevage Sunheup). They too again kept it neatly clear in the jump-off, but crossed the finish line in 36.76 seconds and 38.33 seconds respectively. Moreover, during the opening day on Thursday, Deseuzes and Eldorado Sunheup Z also managed to finish 3^rd in the 1.40m class.

Finally, on Friday there was also a 3^rd place reserved for Pius Schwizer with the 11-year-old chestnut gelding Chelsea Z, a breeding product of Willy Sijbers who combined the blood of Chellano Alpha Z with that of Cicero Z. Schwizer and Chelsea Z gained their 3^rd place during the 1.50m high speed class, in which they ensured a clear round.
