For the second week in a row, the CSI4* GP of Le Lame International in Montefalco, Italy, has brought success for the blue/yellow colors of Zangersheide! After the 2nd place for the Irish rider Richard Howley and the 12-year-old gelding Consulent de Prelet Z (Consulent Z x Fuego du Prelet – B: Svo Trans Feka) during the GP of the week before, we also received a Zangersheide horse on the GP podium last week. This time, the 2nd place went to the Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Cortizo Goncalves de Azevedo Filho with the 9-year-old grey mare Sierra Du Piedroux Z, a daughter of Hunter's Scendix and Contefino who was bred by Claude Noirot. Cortizo Goncalves de Azevedo Filho and Sierra Du Piedroux Z had already placed 11th in the 1.40m class during the opening day on Thursday and were one of only two combinations that were able to qualify for the jump-off in the 1.55m CSI4* GP. They also managed to ensure a clear round in that jump-off, but eventually had to acknowledge their superiority in their compatriot Stephan de Freitas Barcha (Primavera Montana).

Also on Sunday, the British lady rider Chloé Aston managed to jump into the picture again with the 8-year-old mare Diatendra von Rocherath Z (Diamant de Semilly x Contendro I – B: Edgar Stoffels). During the 1.45m class Aston and Diatendra von Rocherath Z kept it clear in both the 1st and the 2nd phase and after their 3rd place in the 1.45m class on Thursday they took a 4th place this time

Furthermore, the Italian lady rider Antonia Vita Pinardi was also placed in this 1.45m class with the 11-year-old mare Antina v't Merelsnest Z (Arko III x Lord Z - B: Walter Van Bunder). They also managed to keep it clear twice and this performance was good for a 7th place in the ranking.

On Saturday it was the Swiss rider Bryan Balsiger who managed to ensure a lot of blue and yellow success. During the 1.40m class he became the winner with the 10-year-old chestnut gelding Chelsea Z, a breeding product of Willy Sijbers who combined the blood of Chellano Alpha Z with that of Cicero Z. With a clear 2nd phase in 38.91 seconds, Balsiger and Chelsea Z were the only combination that kept the chrono under 40 seconds. Furthermore there was also a 5th place in this class for the Italian lady rider Giulia Martinengo Marquet with the 8-year-old gelding Captain Morgan Weering Z (Carrera Z x Arezzo VDL – B: Stal de Weerin/R. Lanting). They also managed to keep all the poles in the cups twice.

During the 1.45m main class, Balsiger jumped to a top ranking with the 12-year-old grey gelding Don Juan 111 Z (Der Senaat 111 x Carthago Z – B: Stal Harrie Theeuwes & Marc Hoesels). They managed to ensure a clear round in this speed class with a 4th place as result.

Finally, we also saw 2 Zangersheide horses in the top 5 of the ranking during the 1.35m class on Saturday. There was a 2nd place for the Italian rider Christian Fioravanti with the 12-year-old grey gelding My Boy Z (Mylord Carthago x Enrico – B: Arts & Schuttelaar) and a 4th place for his compatriot Gianni Govoni with the 7-year-old grey mare Apart Z (Aktion Pur Z x Asca Z – F: Stoeterij Zangersheide). Both combinations managed to ensure a flawless performance in this class against the clock.
