Second Grand Prix victory in a row for Daido van 't Ruytershof Z!

Besides the Major League Show Jumping's five-star competition in Toronto, a second international competition took place in Canada last weekend with the Vancouver-Langley three-star competition at the beautiful Thunderbird Show Park. For the second week in a row, the victory in the CSI3* GP there was for Irish rider James Chawke and the 10-year-old mare Daido van 't Ruyterhof Z, the daughter of our stallion Dieu Merci Van T&L Z and Bamako de Muze bred by the van den Branden family of Stal 't Ruytershof. Chawke and Daido van 't Ruytershof Z were one of the five combinations that made it through the 1.50m base lap unscathed, winning a ticket for the jump-off. In it, Chawke and Daido van 't Ruytershof once again managed to provide a flawless performance and with a finishing time of 30.69 seconds they managed to outclass the competition again this week!

James Chawke: "I thought if I rode about the same lines as Tiffany Foster, I would be close. After all, Daido is very fast over ground. She was incredible like last week and she tries so hard in the ring! She has an awful lot of quality on the jump and it's just an incredibly good horse!"

Besides his second Grand Prix victory in as many weeks with Daido van 't Ruytershof Z, Chawke also scored a victory in Vancouver last weekend with the 11-year-old stallion Nacara Van Berkenbroeck Z, a son of Nonstop and Indoctro who, as his name suggests, was bred by Michel Spaas. Indeed, Chawke and Nacara Van Berkenbroeck Z were the winners of the 1.50m GP Qualifier on Friday. In a jump-off for which 12 combinations managed to qualify, they reached the finishing line in 30.08 seconds and this time gave them a lead of just under half a second over the competition.

James Chawke: "I have been riding Nacara for two years now, but he has actually only been jumping higher classes since last winter. In fact, in January we decided to start him in some 1.40m classes and in the meantime he has even won some 1.45m classes. He can be a bit nervous and you can see that when you ride him, but he is a very nice horse to work with."

Who also managed to get another victory in Vancouver was Mexican rider Simon Nizri and the 8-year-old grey mare Chianti Di Fer Z, a daughter of Cicero Z and Baloubet du Rouet from the Mertens Stables breeding farm. During the 1.40m class on Thursday, Nizri and Chianti Di Fer Z were one of only two combinations who managed to advance to the jump-off and in it they became the final laureates by being the only combination to again stay clear.
