Quaker Brimbelles Z impressively wins the CSI3* GP of St. Tropez

Last weekend, the Gassin Polo Club in St Tropez was the setting for a particularly exciting CSI3* competition. With 2 resounding victories, the absolute stars of the weekend were French rider Jean Luc Mourier and the 9-year-old gelding Quaker Brimbelles Z, a son of Quicksilver St Simeon and Hickstead bred in France by Haras des Brimbelles.
Mourier and Quaker Brimbelles Z immediately started the competition on Thursday by winning the 1.50m GP Qualifier. In a class against the clock, they sped to the finishing line in 63.61 seconds, giving them a comfortable lead of over 1.5 seconds over the competition. But the absolute highlight of the weekend came on Sunday, when they impressively added the CSI3* GP to their record. Mourier and Quaker Brimbelles Z were in fact the only combination in this 1.55m high closing round of the weekend that managed to finish the basic round without any faults, making them the undeserved winners!
However, Mourier and Quaker Brimbelles were not the only ones who managed to ensure Zangersheide success at this CSI3* GP, as the 3rd place on the podium also looked blue and yellow. Belgian rider Elisa Strubbe took care of that with the 10-year-old gelding Deejay Kdw Z, a son of Diamant de Semilly and Vigo d'Arsouilles bred by Emile de Waele. The duo, also good for 11th place in the 1.40m class on Thursday and eighth place in the 1.50m GP Qualifier on Thursday the previous days, did manage to keep all the bars neatly in the scoops in the basic round, but 1 penalty point for time unfortunately kept them out of the jump-off.
Another combination that stood out in the CSI3* GP was Frenchman Marc Dilasser with the 9-year-old mare Make My Day Z du Gevres. This daughter of Mylord Carthago and Ukato, bred by Jan Sips and Martijn Cerpentier, finished in 7th place after four penalties in the basic round. Dilasser and Make My Day Z du Gevres thus repeated their performance of the 1.50m GP Qualifier on Friday, in which they also finished 7th.
Another striking combination in St Tropez was Dilasser's compatriot Michel Robert and the 10-year-old gelding Calasto Z, a breeding product of Dutchman Hans Schipper, who combined the blood of Calvaro F.C. with that of Stakkato. Robert and Calasto Z already managed to finish 3rd and 5th respectively during the 1.40m class on Thursday and during the 1.50m GP Qualifier on Friday, and during the CSI3* GP they finished 9th in the standings.
Guillaume Foutrier and the 9-year-old gelding Top of the Bill 89 Z, bred by Nick Verlies out of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and Andiamo Z, also managed to jump into the prizes three times. The duo started their weekend with a 4th place in the 1.40m class on Thursday and finished 5th in both the 1.45m class on Friday and Sunday.
Finally, rider Margaux Rocuet also had a strong weekend with her 14-year-old chestnut mare Iliade KDW Z, a daughter of Indoctro and Brahmann St Simeon from the KDW Horses breeding farm. Rocuet and Iliade KDW Z also opened their competition in the 1.50m class on Thursday with a 4th place, and on Sunday they managed to finish 3rd in the 1.45m speed class.
