Pedro Veniss and Nimrod de Muze Z win the CSI4* GP of Montefalco

Over a month ago at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour of Vejer de la Frontera, they still had to make do with^2nd place in the standings, where last weekend Brazilian rider Pedro Veniss and his 13-year-old chestnut gelding Nimrod de Muze Z had their GP victory to hand! In the beautiful accommodation of Le Lame International in Montefalco, Italy, the duo jumped to victory in the 1.55m CSI4* GP on Sunday. Veniss and Nimrod de Muze Z, a son of Nabab de Rêve and Tinka's Boy from the breeding farm of Eric Polfliet, were one of 11 combinations to keep clear in the basic round, qualifying for the jump-off. In it, they were once again not to be caught out on a fault and with a finishing time of 40.85 seconds, this time they did get the top prize.

In addition to the CSI4* GP, a 1.45m class also took place on Sunday, in which a podium place was reserved for Italian rider Guido Franchi and the 11-year-old chestnut stallion Cascol Z, the son of Casall and Calvaro Z from the breeding farm of Piet Janssen. In both the^1st and^2nd phases, Franchi and Cascol Z kept all the bars neatly in the scoops and this performance earned them a ^2nd place in the standings.

Another notable combination in Montefalco was Italian rider Andrea Venturini and the 12-year-old mare Cornische QP Z, a daughter of Cornet Obolensky and Chin Chin bred by Keros NV. Venturini and Cornische QP Z were good for an immediate ^3rd place in the 1.40m class on Thursday during the opening day, and two days later they managed an ^8th place during another 1.40m class.

In the 1.45m class on Saturday, Spanish rider Ismael Garcia Roque jumped to a top 5 ranking with the 9-year-old chestnut gelding Brazilia DK Z, a son of By Ceira d'Ick and Argentinus bred in France by EARL Haras d'Ick, with whom Garcia Roque won 2 more classes at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour of Vejer de la Frontera in March. In a class against the clock, Garcia Roque and Brazilia DK Z produced a flawless round, securing ^5th place in the standings. Then again, Italian rider Giacomo Casadei was ^7th in this class with the 10-year-old grey mare Corradiena van 't Klein Asdonk Z (Cornet Obolensky x Andiamo Z - B: Eddy Thomas).

Finally, there was also blue/yellow success in the 1.45m class on Thursday with a podium place for Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave and the 9-year-old stallion E Jasmin Du Maquis Z, a breeding product of Catherine Schepers who combined the blood of Elvis Ter Putte with that of Happy Easter du Rezidal. Arroyave and E Jasmin Du Maquis Z had no faults in either the^1st or^2nd phase, which also put them in ^3rd place in the standings. With this place on the podium, they did just a little better than Italian rider Filippo Lupis and the 11-year-old stallion Contito EB Z (Canturano I x Candilllo Z - B: Beauty BVBA), who after a double clear round were good for ^4th place in the standings.
