Again a leading role for Chat Botte Du Ruisseau Z in Abu Dhabi

After the Al Shiraa'aa International Horse Show the week before, there was again some international action last weekend at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi. This time The President Of the UAE Showjumping Cup was on the program and for the second week in a row there was a leading role for the Irish rider Billy Twomey with the 15-year-old chestnut stallion Chat Botte E.D, a son of Casall and Darco who was born as Chat Botte du Ruisseau Z at the home of breeder Andre Vandepapeliere.
Twomey and Chat Botte E.D finished second brilliantly the week before during the CSI4* Worldcup and were able to repeat that performance on Friday evening during the CSIO5* GP. They were one of only two combinations that managed to keep it clear in both the first and second round and they eventually had to acknowledge their superiority in the Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano and his gelding Chalou.
Furthermore, the Belgian rider Abdel Saïd also performed well with the 10-stallion Clown of Picobello Z, a son of Cardento VDL and Orlando who was bred by the Ruant family of Picobello Horses and who is also a half-brother of Romeo 88 (ex Champion of Picobello Z), the GP horse of the British rider Harry Charles. Saïd and Clown of Picobello Z jumped to a tenth place during the opening day on Thursday in the 1.50m main class and secured a second place in the 1.50m class on Sunday. They remained clear in both the first and the second round, but also here it was Emanuele Gaudiano who took the victory.
Next to Saïd and Clown of Picobello Z, we saw a second Zangersheide horse in the top ten of the ranking during the 1.50m class on Thursday. The eighth place went to the Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Cortizo Concalves de Azevedo Filho with the 9-year-old mare Sierra Du Piedroux Z (Hunter's Scendix x Contefino – B: Claude Noiret).
