New win for Kent Farrington and Landon

Shanghai was able to enjoy the 4th round of the Longines Global Champions Tour last weekend, but a five-star competition also took place in Britain over the past few days with the Royal Windsor Horse Show. American rider Kent Farrington competed there and counted again on his 11-year-old top gelding Landon, the son of our chestnut stallion Comilfo Plus Z and Quadrillo, who was born as Crack de Nyze Z to breeder Danny Nijs. Farrington and Landon have already put in quite a few strong performances over the past weeks and months and confirmed their good form last weekend with a resounding victory in the 1.55m Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King's Cup on Saturday afternoon. In a jump-off for which 7 combinations managed to qualify, the golden duo was the very first combination to enter the ring again and with a masterful round in 35.38 seconds they wrote another class on their record of achievements!
Kent Farrington: "Landon is just a fantastic horse! We achieved many great results last year such as team gold and individual silver at the Pan American Games and he really remains in excellent form. Starting first in a jump-off is never easy, but I had made a plan and just stuck to it. I'm really happy to have him in my team."
But Farrington and Landon were not the only ones to achieve blue and yellow success at Windsor, as Brazilian rider Yuri Mansur also jumped into the limelight with the 13-year-old gelding Curiano Van Maarle Z, a son of Canabis Z and Germus Z, bred by Corneel Verhaeren. Mansur and Curiano Van Maarle Z were already good for 7th place in the 1.50m class on Saturday and managed to finish 4th in the 1.50m class on Sunday.
Last but not least, there was also a top ranking for American rider Laura Kraut and the 10-year-old mare Bisquetta, a daughter of Bisquet Balou van de Mispelaere and Takashi van Berkenbroeck, who was born as Bisquetta Squalls Estate Z to breeder Claire McCarthy-Winters. During the 1.55m class on Friday, Kraut and Bisquetta managed to stay clear in both the basic round and the jump-off and this also earned them a 4th place in the standings.
