Make My Day Z Du Gevres wins the first CSI3* Grand Prix of Lille

Last weekend, Lille, France, was the scene of a brand new international competition with the very first edition of Lille Horse Events. This three-star competition brought together a select company of top riders and the first CSI3* Grand Prix of the event saw a Zangersheide horse top the leaderboard.
The honour fell to French rider Marc Dilasser with the 9-year-old grey mare Make My Day Z Du Gevres, a daughter of Mylord Carthago and Ukato bred in the Netherlands by Jan Sips and Martijn Cerpentier, with whom Dilasser was also good for eighth place during the 1.40m class on Friday. Dilasser and his talented mare managed to stay clear in the basic round of the Grand Prix, making them one of the 11 combinations to advance to the jump-off. In that exciting denouement, they managed to keep their cool with a sharp finishing time of 32.29 seconds they managed to outclass the competition!
It was also a successful competition for Belgian rider Anthony Wellens with the 9-year-old mare Cuberlina II Z, a daughter of PKZ Contact van de Heffinck and Querlybet Hero Z from the breeding farm of Eric and Alain Paridaens. Wellens and Cuberlina II Z immediately started their show on Thursday with an excellent 3rd place in the 1.40m opening class, while they managed to secure 9th place in the 1.45m Longines Ranking Test on Saturday.
There were also two placings for Frenchman Guillaume Foutrier and the 9-year-old gelding Top of the Bill 89 Z, a son of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and Andiamo Z bred by Nick Verlies. After finishing 10th in the Longines Ranking class on Saturday, they closed their competition on Sunday with 8th place in the 1.45m high speed class.
Finally, in the 1.40m class on Friday, Foutrier's compatriot Philippe Rozier managed to finish in 6th place with the 9-year-old grey stallion Corsini Vd Keihill Z (Cornet Obolensky x Cassini I) from the breeding farm of Peter Bakkers. In both the1st and2nd phases, Rozier and Corsini Vd Keihill Z managed to ensure a flawless round.
