Outstanding quality, refined looks, intelligence, power, technique and world-class breeding... It's the perfect summary of what Zangersheide.Auction had to offer last night at the denouement of the April 2024 Young Horse Auction! A carefully curated collection of 16 horses, ranging from 3-year-olds at liberty to 5-year-olds under saddle, went under the online auction hammer and found new stables all over the world.
The absolute eye-catcher of the evening was the 3-year-old chestnut stallion L'As de Ceran, a son of Emerald van 't Ruytershof and Canturo, who had already been approved for Studbook Zangersheide at the Z-France stallion selection in Deauville last month. Moreover, L'As De Ceran's dam is a half-sister of the mare Bellaventure Kalone, who in turn is the dam of... Belgian Champion Ermitage Kalone! With his stunning looks and phenomenal way of jumping, L'As de Ceran managed to charm quite a few prospective buyers over the past few days and was finally sold last night to a sports stable in Germany for a sum of €45,000.
However, L'As de Ceran was not the only horse these German customers had their eye on during this first online auction of the season. So they also invested in the 3-year-old horses Alouette Z and Titus A Z. The mare Alouette Z is a daughter of Zangersheide icon Aganix du Seigneur Z combined with Chellano Alpha Z, while Titus A Z then combines the blood of Tsar Hero with that of Cicero Z.
Who also managed to reach the 40,000 euro mark was the 4-year-old stallion Dejave M, a descendant of D'Aganix 2000 Z and out of a Chacco Blue dam. With his unlimited scope, Dejave M also attracted a lot of interest and in the end it was Colman Stables and French Boston Sporthorses who entered into a partnership and bought Dejave M for 42,000 euros.
Furthermore, the 3-year-old grey gelding Vigoroso P Vd Donkhoeve managed to attract a lot of interest. This son of Mumbai van de Moerhoeve and Vivaldi du Seigneur stood out in the USA and jumped into the limelight as a possible hunter and is therefore moving to the United States for 32,000 euro.
Zangersheide.Auction thanks all its loyal and new customers for their unconditional trust and is already looking forward to the upcoming foaling season!
