Gilles Thomas on his way to to defend his Championship Title

After the second round of Belgian Championship, the 2023 title winner Gilles Thomas (Luna vh Dennehof, Prince vd Wolfsakker) takes the lead with 0.35 penalty points. Annelies Vorsselmans (C. Kulottie W Z, Comme Il Faut) is in second place with 1.88 penalty points. Pieter Devos (Nascar van 't Siamshof, Emilion) follows in third place with 2.1 points.

Saturday the final will be jumped with the top 16 and the provisional top eight are less than one pole down from leader Gilles Thomas. After the first round yesterday, Gilles Thomas was in third place. He was the only one of the top 7 to stay clear today. Maverick Van Lent (Forever du Givre, Vigo d'Arsouilles), who won the first round yesterday, got a fault in the last line and drops to seventh place.

Thibault Philippaerts (Obama de la Linière, Marius Claudius) was second but got a fault on the wall today and is in eighth place for Saturday's final. Jules Van Hoydonck (Minte vd Bisschop, Plot Blue) became Belgian champion in the Young Riders last year, started in the seniors this year and is in fourth place for the final with 2.53 penalty points. He also stayed clear today.
