The five-star Saut Hermès competition in Paris turned out to be a particularly successful weekend for our blue and yellow colours of Zangersheide. On the one hand there were of course the good performances of the Zangersheide horses, but in addition there was also success for the offspring of our Zangersheide stallions.
In the 1.55m main class on Saturday there was a victory for Swedish rider Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli and her 14-year-old chestnut mare Kalinka van de Nachtegaele, a breeding product of Marcel Jacobs who combined the blood of the Zangersheide stallions Epleaser Van 't Heike Z and Cicero Z. Augustsson Zanotelli and Kalinka van de Nachtegaele kept nicely clear in both the first and the second and decisive round and with a finishing time of 43.87 seconds they managed to outclass the other 19 combinations!
In addition to Augustsson Zanotelli and Kalinka van de Nachtegaele, Belgian rider Rik Hemeryck and the 10-year-old gelding Inoui du Seigneur also came out strong in this 1.55m class. This Inoui du Seigneur was bred by Marc Vanlangendonck and also has a particularly strong Zangersheide pedigree. He unites the blood of Jenson van 't Meulenhof Z and that of Zangersheide figurehead Aganix du Seigneur Z. Hemeryck and Inoui du Seigneur did manage to keep all the rails in the scoops in both rounds, but due to 2 penalty points for time during the first round, they eventually had to settle for 10th place in the rankings.
