Dora de Poteau Z and Camore Z are the winning foals on day 3!

During this third and final day of the Belgian Zangersheide Foal Championship 2024, this morning it was looking forward to the presentations of the oldest groups of mare and stallion foals. These were the foals born between 1 January 2024 and 17 April 2024 and they too were judged on the known criteria.
Filly foals
Once again, from 9 a.m. onwards, it was the fillies who were allowed to kick off and in this final series, a total of 37 foals made their appearance in the ring. The filly that managed to convince our jury the most in this was the mare Dora de Poteau Z, a daughter of the fantastic jumping Dourkhan Hero Z combined with the blood of Halifax van het Kluizebos. Bred by Pgmbh Hammes, Dora de Poteau Z is a granddaughter of the Quidam de Rêvel mare Quira-Z. She herself already produced a 1.50m horse with the mare Donna Casalla (Casall ASK) under the saddle of Belgian rider Gilles Dunon, but she is also the dam of the now 4-year-old Emerald van 't Ruytershof son Erald de Poteau Z, who was sold for 39,000 euros at our Zangersheide Online Auction in August last year.
Second place in this series was taken by filly Katinka Viktory Z, bred by Joost Van Riet. Katinka Viktory Z is a daughter of Kashmir van Schuttershof combined with Andiamo Z and is the full sister of none other than H&M All-in, the former Grand Prix horse of Swedish rider Peder Fredricson. But Katinka Viktory Z is of course also a half-sister to the GP horses Happiness DK Z (Hooch) and Voila DK Z (Vagrant Z), both of whom can be seen under the saddle of Swedish rider Angelie Von Essen.
Third place was reserved for the filly Unbelievable Touch Z in this final series of fillies. Unbelievable Touch Z is a daughter of Untouched Son JPS and Quattro B and was bred by Harald Gassen. Dam Quibell is also the dam of the mare L'Alize Z (L'Arc de Triomphe), who is currently jumping at 1.50m level with Italian rider Gianni Govoni, and of the mare Unforgettable Touch Z (United Touch S), who was sold at our Zangersheide Foal Auction in August last year for a sum of 33,000 euros.
Colts
Finally, it was then the turn of the final series of colts, in which a total of 39 foals were presented. Victory in this final series of the weekend went to the foal Camore Z, bred by Bert Reumers and Souleika Cretskens. A son of jumping legend Casall ASK, Camore Z is also out of the Emerald van 't Ruytershof mare Emerine Z, who also gave the winning filly with Didalou Z (Darry Lou) on Friday and the number 3 in the colts with Catomi Z (Catoki Z) on Saturday.
The silver in this final series was reserved for the colt Can You See Gancia XQ Z, a breeding product of Exclusive Stables with a fantastic pedigree! Can You See Gancia XQ Z is in fact a son of Catoki Z and is a direct descendant of the mare Gancia de Muze (Malito de Reve), the former Grand Prix mare of Belgian rider Niels Bruynseels.
Finally, third place went to the colt Charmander de Nyze Z, which brings us to a breeding product of the Nijs family of Stud de Nyze. Charmander de Nyze Z is a son of Chacco Blue out of the Heartbreaker mare Urmina and thus a half-brother of the GP horses Absie (Corland VDL), Calvino de Nyze Z (Calvaro Z) and Calvino II de Nyze Z (Calvaro Z).
