Dominator 2000 Z daughter Daredevil Z impresses in Stockholm

After already winning classes in Compiègne, Opglabbeek, Lummen and Le Touquet over the past weeks and months, Irish rider Harry Allen and his 7-year-old mare Daredevil Z have now also managed to impress at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Stockholm! Allen and Daredevil Z, a daughter of Dominator 2000 Z and Pronto out of the breeding of Joëlle Leonard, competed three times in the classes for 7-year-old horses in the Swedish capital last weekend, in which they managed to secure two wins and a^2nd place.

The start of their competition was immediately promising, as they became the winners of the 1.30m opening class on Friday morning. In both the^1st and^2nd stages, Allen and Daredevil Z managed to keep all the bars in place and with a finishing time of 31.10 seconds they managed to outclass the competition.

On Friday, a 1.35m speed class was then on the programme for the 7-year-old horses and in this, too, the duo managed to secure a top ranking. Once again, all the obstacles remained in the scoops and with a finishing time of 61.20 seconds, this time they secured^2nd place in the standings.

The final class for the 7-year-olds was the morning class on Sunday, in which Allen and Daredevil Z were one of 10 combinations who managed to advance to the jump-off. As the ^eighth combination to start, they managed to put in another flawless performance and with a chrono time of 38.67 seconds they were exactly 10 hundredths of a second ahead of the competition.

It was also a successful weekend for British rider Ben Maher and the gelding Maddox vh Haringvliet Z, the son of Monte Bellini and Ogano Sitte bred by the Hoekstra family. Maddox vh Haringvliet Z jumped into the limelight at the World Breeding Championship For Young Horses last September, when he managed to win bronze in the 6-year-old horses under the saddle of Jelmer Hoekstra. Shortly afterwards, he was sold to Ben Maher, with whom he is therefore now also successful. Maher and Maddox vh Haringvliet Z started their show in Stockholm with a ^3rd place on Friday, followed by a ^5th place in the speed class on Saturday and a^2nd place in the final class on Sunday.
