Christian Ahlmann and Otterongo Alpha Z continue their success series

The last weeks of 2023 were already filled with some outstanding strong performances for Christian Ahlmann and our 10-year-old chestnut stallion Otterongo Alpha Z. For example, at the two international competitions in Riyadh, they became 4th in the CSI4* GP and managed to write their first CSI5* GP on their palmares. The dynamic duo is now continuing their triumphal march unabated at the start of the new year. Ahlmann and Otterongo Alpha Z, a son of Darco and Hedjaz from the breeding farm of Jozef Poets, started last weekend at the four-star competition of the Al Shira'aa International Horse Show in Abu Dhabi, where they immediately secured victory in the 1.45m class on Thursday evening. During the 1st and 2nd phases,  they left the pooles untouched, and once again outclassing the competition.

On Friday evening, Ahlmann also counted on Otterongo Alpha Z for the 1.50m Diamond Tour and once again the duo was on target. In a class against the clock, they once again ensured a flawless round and this time finished 3rd in the standings. In addition to Otterongo Alpha Z, Ahlmann also brought the HH Conrad Z daughter Blueberry to the start in Abu Dhabi and they too made themselves heard. During the 1.45m class yesterday they managed to jump to 4th place.

During the final day yesterday, we were mainly looking forward to the Longines Al Shira'aa FEI Jumping World Cup and here we saw a Zangersheide horse in the top 10 of the rankings. 8th place went to Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Cortizo Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho with the 10-year-old grey mare Sierra du Piedroux Z, a daughter of Hunter's Scendix and Contefino from the stud farm of Claude Noirot. Cortizo Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho and Sierra du Piedroux Z got a fault in the first round, but a fast finishing time allowed them to be among the top 10 combinations to qualify for the second and decisive round. In that round, they did manage to stay clear, which eventually earned them 8th place in the standings. In the 1.40m class on Wednesday, Cortizo Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho also managed to finish 7th with the Comilfo Plus Z son Click Clack VDC Z (Comilfo Plus Z x Indian Gold van Castershoeve - B: Joke Mardaga).

Finally, there were also classes for young horses on the program in Abu Dhabi, in which home rider Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi managed to secure a victory with the 6-year-old mare Argentina de Kreisker Z, a breeding product of SCEA Elevage de Kreisker who combined the blood of our chestnut stallion Aganix du Seigneur Z with that of Quick Star. Khalifa Al Muhairi and Argentina de Kreisker Z were the best in the final class for the 6-year-old horses yesterday.
