Bronze for Christian Ahlmann and D'Aganix 2000 Z in Abu Dhabi World Cup

Christian Ahlmann had another top weekend on his tour in the United Arab Emirates! After his victory last week, Ahlmann also came on strong in the past few days during the second week of the Al Shira'aa International Horse Show in Abu Dhabi by adding another victory to his record of achievements and also claiming a leading role in the FEI Jumping World Cup Grand Prix.
The World Cup on Sunday evening was undoubtedly the absolute highlight during this second and also final week of the Al Shira'aa International Horse Show 2025. Christian Ahlmann also appeared at the start, and he counted on our 11-year-old stallion D'Aganix 2000 Z, the son of Zangersheide icons Dominator 2000 Z and Aganix du Seigneur Z bred by Tony Foriers of Stud 2000, to do so.
During the first round, Ahlmann and D'Aganix 2000 Z managed to keep all the bars neatly in the scoops, but in doing so they ran into 1 penalty point for exceeding the time allowed. However, only five combinations managed to go completely clear in that first round and so Ahlmann and D'Aganix 2000 Z were among the best 11 combinations to qualify for a second round and decisive round. In that, the duo did manage to keep it clear all along the line and with 1 point over the two rounds combined, they secured 3rd place.
Besides his podium place with D'Aganix 2000 Z, Ahlmann also confirmed his excellent form once again with our 11-year-old chestnut stallion Otterongo Alpha Z, the son of Darco and Hedjaz from the breeding farm of Jozef Poets. In the 1.50m main class on Thursday, Ahlmann and Otterongo Alpha Z could not be caught out on a fault and after a clear round in 57.62 seconds, they outclassed the competition by more than half a second.
Also in the spotlight again was Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Cortizo Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho with 11-year-old grey mare Sierra du Piedroux Z, a daughter of Hunter's Scendix and Contefino bred by Claude Noiret, with whom Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho also had a strong weekend last week. At the FEI Jumping World Cup Grand Prix, they saw a bar roll out of the scoops in the second and decisive round, giving them a final 7th place in the standings.
Another striking combination in Abu Dhabi was German rider Sophie Hinners with the 9-year-old chestnut mare Kaleni Jo SV Z, a daughter of Kannan and Indoctro bred in the Netherlands by Verhoeven Stables. Hinners and Kaleni Jo SV Z immediately started their competition well on Thursday with a 6th place in the 1.40m class and on Friday they attracted attention when they managed to secure a 4th place in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class.
Last but not least, Egyptian rider Amr Gamal Mohamed also managed to place twice with the 13-year-old stallion Zazou Z, a son of Zandor Z and Guidam from the Schoof and Vullers stud farm. In both the 1.40m class on Friday and the CSI2* Grand Prix on Sunday, Gamal Mohamed managed to take 7th place in the standings.
