BP Lucky Clover & Niamh McEvoy

At the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken, the consolations for the young horses were on the program today. The 5-year-old horses came into action once again in the Almé Z Arena, just like during the qualifiers of the previous days, and in the consolation  Irish rider Niamh McEvoy and the Irish-bred mare BP Lucky Clover, a daughter of Lord Carthago and Captain Clover took the lead. The combination sped through the finish line in a time of 59.22 seconds, giving her a slight edge over the competition.

With her performance, McEvoy kept Briton Thomas Pritchard from the winings. The latter had taken the lead earlier in the class with the AES mare Princess SW (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Caretino - B: Sophie Wallace) with a finish time of 59.26 seconds, but after the Irish rider's round he had to settle for second place of honor. Also on the podium was Italian rider Federico Jacobone and the Hanoverian stallion Diacco Blue (Diamant de Semilly x Chacco Blue - B: ZG Dannenbring). They managed a time of 59.41 seconds, which was good for 3rd place in the standings.

The best Belgian performance came from Limburger Lennert Korsten with his BWP mare Theuwi van het Distelhof, the daughter of Emerald van 't Ruytershof and Indoctro from the breeding of Ine Theuwissen. Korsten and Theuwi van het Distelhof did not put a foor wrong in this class against the clock and their finish time of 59.71 seconds earned them 4th place in the standings. Jordy Oostvogels and BWP rider Top Heart (by Nixon van 't Meulenhof, mv. Heartbreaker, bred by Marijke Pops) completed the top five.
