Aganix du Seigneur Z and Caribis Z deliver premium stallions at KWPN

The Brabanthallen in 's Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands are once again the setting for the KWPN Stallion Show, or KWPN Stallion Selection, these days. In the process, 6 stallions were also invited as premium stallions on Wednesday and Thursday. They reappeared in the ring on Thursday evening and were then extensively introduced and honoured.
The blood of the Zangersheide stallions was strongly represented here, with 2 of the 6 stallions sired by one of our own stallions. One of them is the stallion 3-year-old Always Remember Jack VDL Z, a son of Aganix du Seigneur Z out of the GP mare Derly Chin de Muze (For Pleasure), who herself jumped at the very highest level with first Eric Lamaze and then with Sharn Wordley. Derly Chin de Muze is also the dam of the mare Killer Queen VDM (Eldorado Van De Zeshoek), the GP horse of German rider Daniel Deusser. The stallion committee judged that 'Always Remember Jack VDL Z impressed with his good canter, scope, overview and commitment in the free-jumping'.
Also priced was the 3-year-old stallion Caribou van de Dasseneheide Z, already appointed on Wednesday, a breeding product of Nick Adams and Jill Goossens who combined the blood of the grey stallion Caribis Z with that of Diamant de Semilly. Dam Shakira de Kreisker is no one less than the full sister of Quickley de Kreisker, the former GP horse of Moroccan rider Abdelkebir Ouaddar. "Caribou van de Dasseneheide Z shows a lot of blood, jumps with great overview and ease, and has an athletic model," was the verdict of the stallion committee here.
Blom Stallion competition
In the Netherlands, the KWPN Stallion Show is always accompanied by the final of the Blom Stallion Competition and in this competition, several of our stallions' offspring managed to stand out. In the final standings of the 1.30m class of the stallion competition, the stallion Defender VDS Z, a breeding product of Daphne van der Schaar who combined the blood of Dominator 2000 Z with the mare Atureusa VDS (Padinus), was placed second. Ridden by Dutch rider Marco Sas, Defender VDS Z, who is also approved for Studbook Zangersheide, jumped impressively to third place in the day's competition. As icing on the cake, Defender VDS Z had his first son appointed for the performance test on Wednesday.
In 6th place in the day's competition, we saw British rider Alex David Gill with the stallion Mindset ES, which brings us to a breeding product of Egbert Schep. This Mindset ES is again a son of Aganix du Seigneur Z and this in combination with Kannan. After Mindset ES was also honoured as a premium stallion in 2020, he was always a fixed value in the Blom Stallion Competition in recent years.
