Stallion approval Sentower Park - Rules

With a view to acceptance into the Zangersheide stud service 2024, the official stallion approval of Studbook Zangersheide VZW will take place at Sentower Park (B) from 15 until 17 February 2024.

 

Conditions of entry:

The approval is open for 3- and 4 yr-old stallions (birth year 2020 and 2021) registered with a recognized studbook and with documented ancestry over four removes.

 

Entry:

The entry can be made through our website www.zangersheide.com by completing the registration form online and emailing the x-rays to [email protected] by Jan. 14. The following information must accompany the registration:

• a copy of the ancestry document of the stallion and, when available, a copy of the ancestry document of his dam;

• data demonstrating that the stallion comes from a family which can be considered attractive for showjumping horse breeding, as well as official information about the possible licensing status of the stallion with other studbooks;

• for 5-yr-old and older newly to be licensed stallions, proof of possible own sport and/or breeding performance, confirmed by the NF of the country in which such performance has taken place;

• for all newly to be licensed stallions, v/a clinical report (you are obliged to fill out this clinical rapport, you can download it from our website: www.zangersheide.com) and 16 X-ray photographs of technically sound quality. These photographs shall not be older than six months.

 

Pre-Selection:

After registration we will make a pre- selection based on the X-ray exam. The selected horses will then be invited to come to the actual approval. Upon first viewing of their stallions owners shall submit the original ancestry document(s) to the competent secretarial staff.

 

Vaccination:

All stallions invited to the selections must have been vaccinated against influenza/ tetanus. Vaccination certificate must be shown on request.

 

Selection obligations:

To be newly licensed, the following obligations must be met:

3- and 4-yr-old stallions: conformation selection as shown in hand and in free jumping (namely, in over a cross with pole in front and at one stride an upright which will eventually be built into a sloping oxer)

 

When a veterinarian appointed by Studbook Zangersheide decides it is necessary to re-examine a stallion radiographically or clinically, it is obligatory to cooperate with this before the stallion can enter the stud service.  The findings of the relevant veterinarian will be definite. Of all licensed stallions the DNA pattern will be recorded. All newly to be licensed stallions shall be measured.

 

Auction:

Upon registration for the stallion auction, the owner agrees to give the selection committee of Stoeterij Zangersheide NV the first choice to sell the stallion during its stallion auction of Saturday, February 17, 2024.

• If the selection committee selects the stallion for the auction and the owner agrees this will be done under the General Terms and Conditions of the auction (see Attachment);

• If the selection committee does not select the stallion for the auction the owner is free to sell it;

• If the selection committee wishes to sell the stallion at its auction according to the General Terms and Conditions (in Attachment ) and the owner does not agree, the owner agrees not to sell the stallion to third parties in the 3 months following the stallion approval. If the stallion is sold within 3 months after the stallion approval the owner agrees to pay a commission of € 5,000 to Stoeterij Zangersheide NV.

PLEASE NOTE!!! For participation in the auction the x-rays may not be older than September 1, 2023, the clinical examination report must be made between January 1 and February 17, 2024

 

Costs of the selection:

The inspection fee for the new stallions is € 500,- to be settled as follows; € 100,- for registration with RXs, € 400,- when invited (after evaluation of the RXs). The bill will be sent by e-mail. Inspection fees for already approved stallions of five years are € 250,- to be settled at registration. Travel and accommodation costs will be borne by the owner. The stallions invited to the judging days can be stabled on the spot, provided that a reservation is made at registration!  Stabling costs are € 35 (excl. VAT) per day, payable on arrival. During the presentation of the stallions, appropriate clothing must be wore, blue sweater / T-shirt and jeans. Approved stallions will be entered in and under the rules of Studbook Zangersheide VZW, as stipulated in the Technical Regulations. No appeal is possible against the verdict of the jury. Attendance and participation are at your own risk. Neither the organization nor its employees, including doctors and veterinarians, are liable for damage and/or accidents. The organization reserves the right to change the program if necessary or desired, to interrupt or terminate the judging or to cancel it if unforeseen circumstances so require. The organization does not accept any liability in this matter, also with regard to third parties. Where the regulations do not provide for this, the board of Studbook Zangersheide will make a binding decision. By signing the entry form the participants declare to agree with the above condition.
