Santoz Z jumps to silver in the CSIO3* GP of Uggerhalne
THERESE SØHOL HENRIKSEN
The CSIO5* Nations Cup of Rome naturally received a lot of attention last weekend, but also in Uggerhalne, Denmark, a Nations Cup has been scheduled in recent days. During the final day on Sunday, the highlight was of course the CSIO3* GP, in which the Norwegian lady rider Therese Søhol Henriksen played a leading role with the 11-year-old grey stallion Santos Z, a son of Spartacus TN and Cassini I who was bred in the Netherlands by Stal Het Oosterbrook and with whom she finished 2nd during the CSI2* GP of Drammen earlier this month. Henriksen and Santos Z were one of the 5 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off and with a clear round in 41.28 seconds they again secured a 2nd place in the ranking.
Earlier on Sunday, the CSIO3* competition also included a 1.40m class in which the Austrian rider Benjamin Saurugg secured a podium place with the 8-year-old mare Ally Alfarvad Z (Air Jordan Z x Quinar Z – B: Alfarvad A/s J. E. Jensen). In a class against the clock they kept all the poles in the cups and this performance was good for a 3rd place in the ranking. For the Danish rider Torben Frandsen there was a 5th place with the 17-year-old stallion Bonaparte Z (Balou du Rouet x Lux Z – B: H. van Oers). They also managed to ensure a clear round here.
During the 1.45m Medium Tour Final on Saturday, the Danish lady rider Philippa Wildfang Linde achieved a great result with the 14-year-old mare Carreau of Greenhill Z (Clintissimo Z x Caretino – B: Philip Gysbrechts), a half-sister of the Studbook Zangersheide approved stallion Clockwise Of Greenhill Z (Clearway). In a jump-off for which 13 combinations were able to qualify, Wildfang Linde and Carreau of Greenhill Z again remained clear and this was good for a 4th place in the ranking.
During the CSIO3* Nations Cup on Friday, the American rider Nikko Ritter put in a strong performance with the 9-year-old stallion Aquiles Del Caribe Z (Action-Breaker x Gerlinus – B: Mauricio Ruiz). The duo remained clear in both rounds and thus had an important role in the victory of the American team.
Next to the CSIO3* competition, there were also a few CSIU25 classes in Uggerhalne, in which the Danish lady rider Kamilla Ladefoged Rasmussen managed to jump into the picture with the 13-year-old stallion Chico Z (Clinton I x Quantum – B: Sneijers L.H.M.) . After they already started their show on Thursday with a 5th place in the 1.40m class, they became the winners of the CSIU25 GP on Saturday. However, this 1.45m high GP had a strange denouement, because no combination succeeded a clear basic round, so that a jump-off had to be ridden between the combinations that collected 4 penalty points. Kamilla Ladefoged Rasmussen and Chico Z were one of those 5 combinations and with a clear jump-off in 38.62 seconds they beated the competition.
