The Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten and his 13-year-old gelding Beauville Z N.O.P., a son of Bustique and Jumpy des Fontaines who was bred by Pascal Habets, can once again look back on a strong weekend. A week after their 3rd place at the LGCT GP in Miami Beach, the successful duo confirmed their good form by also securing two top 10 finishes at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Mexico City.

On Friday, they appeared at the start in the second and deciding round of the Global Champions League. In this class against the clock they managed to keep all the poles in the cups and with an 8th place in the individual ranking they secured a ticket for the LGCT GP, just like in Miami.

And during that LGCT GP, another strong performance followed by remaining clear in the basic round as one of the 9 combinations. The duo also got off to an excellent start in the jump-off, but due to a mistake on the first element of the double combinaton, they had to settle for 6th place in the ranking this time.

Another striking combination in Mexico was the Belgian rider Gilles Thomas with the 11-year-old stallion Feromas van Beek Z, a son of Fantomas de Muze and Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve who was bred by Guido Herrijgers. Thomas and Feromas Van Beek Z became 5th on Saturday during a 1.50m class and a day later followed with a 4th place during another 1.50m class.

Finally, the American lady rider Laura Kraut also achieved a good result with the 9-year-old mare Bisquetta, a daughter of Bisquet Balou van de Mispelaere and Takashi van Berkenbroeck, who was born at the home of breeder Claire McCarthy-Winters as Bisquetta Squalls Estate Z. During the 1.55m main class on Saturday, they were one of the 10 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off and after another clear round they secured 3rd place in the ranking.
