For the second week in a row, the British rider Oliver Fletcher and his 11-year-old gelding Hello William (Waldo Van Dugen x Stakkato) secured a 2nd place during the CSI3* GP of Vilamoura. Fletscher and Hello William, who was born as Willie Wonka LVS Z at the home of breeder Lissava Stud Farm, were one of the only 5 combinations that managed to keep clear it in the basic round and so qualified for the jump-off. They were the first to start in that jump-off and immediately did an excellent job. They again managed to ensure a clear round and with a finish time of 39.68 seconds they only had to tolerate the French rider Jerome Hurel (Byron du Telman) ahead of them. Fletcher and Hello William could once again look back on a successful weekend, because they were also placed during the 1.45m high Longines Ranking class on Friday. Even then they managed to keep it clear both in the basic round and in the jump-off and they secured a 4th place.

The victory in this Longines Ranking class went convincingly to the French lady rider Alexa Ferrer with the 12-year-old mare Naiade d'Elsendam Z, a daughter of Nabab de Rêve and Quattro B who was bred by François Verhulst and who was ridden by the Italian rider Piergiorgio Bucci until last year . Ferrer and Naiade d'Elsendam Z finished in 38.50 seconds, which put them more than a second and a half ahead of the competition. But the duo also delivered a strong performance during the CSI3* GP, as they too were among the 5 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. They also managed to ensure a clear round with a jumped also to a 4th place.

On Saturday we also saw two Zangersheide horses in the top 10 of the ranking during the 1.45m Longines Ranking class. The 6th place here went to the Danish rider Søren Møller Rohde with the 9-year-old stallion Action Man Ask Z (Action-Breaker x Calvados Z – B: Ann Van Heyst) and the 9th place to the Swiss rider Valentine Petit-Jean with the 13-year-old mare Patchouli de Muze Z (Ponsee V x Vigo d'Arsouilles – F: Danny Boelens). Both combinations secured a clear round in this speedclass.
