Cosmos BH and Marciano MVF on the GP podium in Miami
LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR
The second leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour was last weekend of course the absolute highlight on the idyllic Miami Beach, but next to that there was also a two-star competition on the program. The CSI2* GP on Sunday became particularly successful for our blue/yellow colours, as 2 Zangersheide horses managed to jump to a place on the podium.
The 2nd place, for example, went to the American lady rider Mimi Gochman with the 10-year-old grey stallion Cosmos BH, a son of Chellano Alpha Z and Artos Z, who was born at our Studfarm Zangersheide as Cosmos Z. Gochman and Cosmos Z were one of the 7 combinations that remained clear in the basic round and so managed to secure a place in the jump-off. With a time in 36.89 seconds, they convincingly set the fastest time, but due to a mistake along the way they had to settle for the first place of honor.
But also the 3rd place in this CSI2* GP coloured blue and yellow and Gochman's compatriot Heather Caristo-Williams took care of that with the 12-year-old gelding Marciano MVF, a son of Stakkato and Libero H who was born at the home of the breeder Stoeterij Landetta as Swing de Landetta Z. Just like Cochman and Cosmos Z, Caristo-Williams and Swing de Landetta Z also had to deal with 4 penalty points in the jump-off, but they crossed the finishline in 39.35 seconds. This Swing de Landetta Z is also a reference of our Zangersheide Quality Auction, where he was sold in September 2011.
During the 1.40m class on Saturday, the British lady rider Amanda Derbyshire secured a victory with the 11-year-old stallion Otto BH, a son of Norton d'Eole and Toulon who was born at the home of breeders Patteet and Van Ransbeeck as No Mercy Van T Kamerveld Z. Derbyshire and No Mercy Van T Kamerveld Z finished this class against the clock in 52.24 seconds, giving them more than a full second ahead of the competition. The 3rd place in this class went to lady rider Victoria Heurtematte with the 13-year-old mare Scarlett du Sart Z (Stakkato x First Bride – B: Carole Fontaine). They also managed to keep all the poles in the cups.
Finally, the Mexican lady rider Maya Ines Denis Chambon managed to jump into the picture with the 7-year-old gelding Callypso de la Hamente Z (Chellsini Z x Kashmir Van Schuttershof – B: Emmanuel Wera). Denis Chambon and Callypso de la Hamente Z managed to win both on Friday during the 1.25m class and on Saturday during the 1.30m class and on Sunday there was also a 9th place during a 1.30m class.
